Join our community in the East of England

In the East of England, we’ve already brought magic to life by granting 1,226 life-changing wishes. But right now, 72 children across the region are still waiting for their wish to come true. These wishes reflect their hopes and dreams – from performing at Ronnie Scott’s and meeting their favourite wrestlers, to having a bedroom makeover or becoming a children’s nurse.

With your support, we can turn these dreams into reality and create moments of joy and hope for children who need them most. Just like we did for Joshua.

After losing her mum to leukaemia, mum Sam was devastated to hear her son Joshua receive the same diagnosis. Despite the emotional toll, Sam stayed strong for Joshua, supporting him through countless rounds of chemotherapy and hospital stays. Joshua’s resilience shone through as he returned to school, bravely enduring treatment while maintaining his cheerful spirit.

During his treatment, Joshua found comfort in collecting zoo-themed stuffed animals, starting with cats and dogs before building a collection of elephants, giraffes, and more. His love for these animals inspired his wish: transforming his bedroom into a jungle. The makeover brought him immense joy, with Joshua moved to tears upon seeing his new jungle-themed sanctuary!

Now, his jungle room provides him with a peaceful retreat and a sense of independence, helping his family regain a sense of normalcy after a difficult year. "His wish has been a massive help in giving his childhood back to him," said his mum, expressing deep gratitude to Make-A-Wish for making it possible.
