💙 That’s a wrap… Walk the Wish Line NI is complete! 💙

Today marks the end of our 710-mile challenge around the outline of Northern Ireland and what a month it’s been.💙💫🥹

When I thought about this I never imagined the support we’d receive. The kindness and generosity shown over the last 30 days has honestly blown me away. 🥹

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our posts and cheered us on. I see everyone of you and thank you for taking the time to follow along💙

Every step and every pound raised will help grant more life-changing wishes for critically ill children across Northern Ireland. As a volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand the impact a wish can have and knowing this money will help create smiles, special memories and moments where children can simply enjoy being children means the world to me. 💙✨

Although the walking has finished, our fundraising page will remain open for a few more weeks while sponsorship money is collected, donations clear and… to give me a chance to bump into a few more people! 🤣🤪🤞

💙💫Granting a Wish has a Cost but it’s Impact is PRICELESS💙💫

Right now 51 critically ill children in Northern Ireland are waiting for their wish.

With the minimum cost of granting a wish being £2,500, approximately £127,500 is needed to make those wishes possible.

I’ve seen firsthand the impact a wish can have on a child and their family. The hope it brings, the memories it creates and the joy it gives during some of the most difficult times are truly priceless. 💙💫

When I started this fundraiser I was afraid to set my target at £1,000. 🥹

What has happened since has been nothing short of amazing. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of so many people, we’ve already gone far beyond what I ever imagined. 💙

I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported this fundraiser. Knowing this money will help create smiles, special memories and moments where children can simply enjoy being children means the world to me. 💙✨

At first glance it’s just a map filled with stars. 💫 

Look Closer…..

I see faces. 👧👦

I see a little girl near Cookstown laughing as she watched her favourite cartoon with her siblings. I see a little boy near Pomeroy proudly showing us his favourite zoo animals. I see a young boy outside Newry showing us exactly how to score the perfect goal. 🥹

I’ve visited children and families close to home and right across Northern Ireland. Looking at this map I can immediately recognise some of the areas where I’ve met families whose courage, resilience and love have stayed with me long after I left.

But what many don’t realise is just how close these stars are to all of us.

When I look at this map, I don’t see stars on a page. I see children. I see families. I see moments of hope, joy and precious memories created through wishes.

Behind every single star is a child who has faced a critical illness and a family who has faced challenges most of us will never fully understand.💔

Because we fiercely protect our families’ privacy, you’ll never know their names or hear their stories. But these families are closer than you think. They are our neighbours, our friends, our work colleagues and members of our communities.

You may pass them every day without ever knowing the battles they are fighting behind closed doors.

1,509 wishes that brought joy, hope and precious memories when they were needed most.

As we take part in Walk the Wish Line NI we’re walking for every one of those stars and for the children and families whose wishes are still to come. 💫

⭐️💙Howard Primary School has come on board to support Walk the Wish Line NI💙⭐️

💙 💫Delighted to share that Howard Primary School is supporting Walk the Wish Line NI in aid of Make-A-Wish UK.💙💫

As a former pupil, I contacted Mrs McWilliams earlier this year to share the incredible work Make-A-Wish does for children living with critical illnesses here in NI. Looking back on my own happy school memories, I realise how fortunate I was to enjoy the simple joys of childhood that many seriously ill children can miss out on.

That’s why this cause means so much to me. Wishes bring hope, joy and precious memories to children and families during some of their toughest times.

On Friday 19th June, pupils will take part in a non-uniform day to help raise funds for children across Northern Ireland who are waiting for their wish to be granted. They may even help Mrs Hardy add a few extra miles to her total! 👟😊

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs McWilliams, Mrs Hardy, the staff, pupils and families for your kindness and support. Together, we’re helping bring a little magic to children who need it most. 💙💫

What started as a little idea, a few sleepless nights and a lot of wishful thinking has already grown into something far bigger than I dared to hope for. 🥹💙

When I first thought about Walk The Wish Line NI I honestly hoped we might raise £1,000. With your incredible support we then dared to aim for £2,500 which is enough to help grant a child’s wish here in Northern Ireland.

I never imagined I’d be sitting here already talking about increasing the target but THANKS to you here we are. 💙⭐

Today, we’ve not only reached that goal we’ve surpassed it in raising an amazing £2,640 so far! 🎉

I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, shared our posts, encouraged us and supported us. Every pound raised is going to help to create hope, strength and unforgettable memories for children facing critical illness and their families across Northern Ireland. 💙

Because of the amazing generosity so far and after some gentle encouragement by my team🤪 I’m now setting sights on £5,000 - enough to help grant two children’s wishes. ⭐⭐

What started as a “wild notion” of trying to raise £1,000 has been completely knocked out of the park thanks to everyone’s support 💙, encouragement 💪 and generosity ⭐️.

⭐ And the most incredible part?

Not even one week into this challenge, together we have already raised enough to fund the wish of one child here in Northern Ireland. ⭐

That is simply incredible🥹

💙The Need for SUPPORT across Northern Ireland continues to GROW💙

As of late afternoon today (3 June 2026), there are now 51 Wish Children in Northern Ireland waiting for their wishes to be granted.

That’s 51 children facing critical illness.

51 families holding onto hope.

51 magical wishes still waiting to come true. 💔

Each wish costs a minimum of £2,500 and creates precious memories, moments of joy and something truly special for children and their families during some of the hardest times of their lives.

• 33 wishes have already been granted in Northern Ireland so far this financial year (Sept 2025 – Aug 2026).

• 1,509 wishes have been granted in Northern Ireland overall.

For me, these aren’t just numbers. I think about every Wish Child and family I’ve met over the years. Sometimes I’ll drive past a house and instantly remember a conversation, a smile or a special moment shared with that family.

Every child waiting has a story, a battle they are facing and a wish that deserves to come true. 💫

This June, my team of family and friends are taking on Walk the Wish Line NI in support of Make-A-Wish UK walking 710 miles collectively to help grant life-changing wishes for critically ill children here in NI 💙

Some of us are seasoned walkers…

Others are just hoping our legs survive the journey 😂

But every single mile is being walked with Heart ❤️ Determination 💪 and Purpose👣✨

We might be slightly mad 🤪

There will definitely be blisters.

And there’s a very high chance of complaining along the way… 😅

But WISHES MATTER 💫

They bring hope, joy, strength, and unforgettable memories to children and families when they need them most 💙

We’ll share a few updates along the way (without bombarding you all too much 😂) although if you aren’t already sick of us… prepare yourselves 👀💙
