DPD International Run for Make a Wish

On Sunday 11th May a team of 30 are lacing up our running shoes for the Sutton Park Running Festival to support the amazing work of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Our goal? A combined distance of 350km – the equivalent of a run from our very own DPD International Gateway in Hinckley to Calais, the gateway into mainland Europe.

We've got a fantastic mix of runners, some who've done this before and others who are taking on their first challenge, all combining efforts to raise money for a very worthy cause.

Every donation, big or small, will help grant these wishes.

Race day completed!

The team of 30 of us pulled through on a very hot morning and hilly course!

Everyone's efforts culminated in an inspiring performance on race day. The team collectively covered a staggering 345 kilometers and ascended a total of 16,354 feet. To put that into perspective, they ran the distance from our very own DPD International Gateway in Hinckley to Calais while simultaneously climbing to Everest Base Camp!

Beyond the incredible distances covered, the day was filled with personal triumphs and notable achievements, including a podium finish and several first-place category wins.

A huge Thank You to everyone who has donated to support our challenge, all in aid of the Make a Wish foundation and the incredible life changing work they do for critically ill children 

Race day is just round the corner

The forecast for Sunday looks like a scorching 22 degrees, combined with the hilly course it will be a difficult race but the team have put in the training ready for the day! 

Together, we've prepared for the race by clocked up over 5,000km  in training – that's like running from Oldbury all the way to New York! 

We're all looking forward to getting on the start line and completing the challenge

We're halfway there and absolutely smashing it!

We've already hit our initial £5,000 fundraising goal, which is incredible – and will become £10,000 when DPD matches it! We've also clocked a mind-blowing 2,000km in training! That's like running the length of the UK twice – amazing! 🤯


It's fantastic to see everyone's dedication and progress as we gear up for race day. We're all putting in the work, and it's paying off.

2 weeks down, 10 weeks to go!

We've made incredible strides! £4,098 raised and a staggering 643 training kilometres already clocked 👊🏃 That's the equivalent to driving from London to Newcastle 🤯

The team are off to a great start to ensure they are race day ready and making sure every training kilometre counts. All motivated by taking on the personal challenge and making a difference through raising money for Make-a-Wish foundation.

Team DPD International - Aim to beat last years run event


Last year, a team of 8 from DPD International came together to raise £5,000 (Matched by DPD!) for Manor House Food Bank by completing the Warwick Half Marathon.

This year, we're building on that incredible effort with a group of 30 people joining the Birmingham Running Festival on May 11th! The running festival includes distances to challenge everyone, from a 5k to a 10k and even the half marathon. Collectively we aim to achieve 350km on the day!
