Ted has officially completed his incredible 60-mile challenge, and we honestly couldn't be prouder of him. His determination, resilience and kindness have been truly inspiring from start to finish.

We're so grateful that every penny raised will help make special wishes come true for children facing incredibly difficult times. Knowing that this challenge will bring moments of joy and hope to families who need it most makes every mile worthwhile.

We come to Thee in a state of mild overheating and emotional collapse.

Satan seems to have flopped down on Earth like it’s a beanbag chair, and somehow left the temperature stuck on ‘Absolute Disrespect’.

We asked for a bit of sunshine,
not to wake up feeling like a Greggs sausage roll left on the dashboard of a Ford Fiesta in August.

Please, Lord, send us even a hint of rain.  Just a gentle drizzle, nothing biblical, we’re not trying to build another ark, just survive the school run.

We are British, we can cope with drizzle, drizzle is our spiritual comfort blanket.
This… this is not drizzle. This is solar punishment.

Deliver us from the heat,
restore the grey skies we know and tolerate,
and if possible, lower Satan’s seating arrangements off the planet.

You may have noticed a slight dip in our mileage this week…

Due to the absolutely feral heat, it has not been considered safe (or remotely humane) to march a 2 and 5 year old around the village racking up ‘sponsored walk miles’ like mini marathoners.

However, fear not, we remain 100% committed to smashing our target by the end of the month. Once temperatures return to something less like the surface of the sun, we’ll be back out there making up for lost ground at full pace.

Catch-up miles are coming. The sun will not beat us! 🌞👟💪

Goal: 14 miles.

So Teddy after Day 1: “Best I can do is… 1 mile.” 🫠
Me: “Well, this sponsorship money might need refunding…”

Fast forward a few days and the little show-off has somehow racked up 17 miles. Turns out he wasn’t behind schedule, he was just building suspense for the comeback story 😉

He went from “call an ambulance” to “put me in the Olympics” faster than you can shake a bag of pick n mix.

Massive well done, Teddy, for not only catching up but absolutely obliterating the target. We doubted you… and you made sure we looked stupid. 🫣🤭😂🏅🥇🏆

Prepping for the sponsored walk… or at least that was the plan until distractions began 🐶

Today, we’ve been out exploring some new walking routes. 🗺️🧭 Ted has been full of questions about the fundraising, while simultaneously carrying out some very serious research into the precise number of steps required before food breaks become medically essential. 🩺🚑

Ted made plenty of friends today, but Daisy the cockerpoo clearly ran the whole social scene 🐶🌼😍

Today, we realised it’s become so much more than just ‘a sponsored walk’. It’s become people coming together, a shared sense of purpose, and something that’s genuinely making a difference, complete with the familiar ‘are we nearly there yet?’ discussions and the occasional panic over whether we’re genuinely lost or simply fully committing to the scenic route. 🙊🫣🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

Tonight, we sat together and talked, and I felt really thankful for that special time together 🩵💙🥹🫶

Tonight while we were talking about why we’re doing this charity walk, I explained to Teddy that some children are very poorly and spend far too much of their little lives feeling scared, sad, and in hospital.

He went completely quiet for a minute, gave me those enormous bush baby eyes inherited from his father, and said, “Can’t we just bring them all here to live with us?” 😭🥹

Honestly… if the world saw things the way he does, it would be a much kinder place. 💔

Fast forward two minutes and he’s launching himself off the bed, beating his chest like a silverback gorilla and screaming “OOO OOO AAAA AAAA” at the dog 🙊🤣

Tiny humanitarian by day, undisputed king of chaos by night. xxx
