Walk For Wishes

We're taking on walk for wishes!

This June we are taking on the walk for wishes kids challenge to raise money for Make-A-Wish UK!

Make-A-Wish UK grant life-changing wishes for thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast.

They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts.

Your support has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.

Make-A-Wish Family Mile Challenge – Day 3

Thursday 4th Jun
Day 3 is complete, and honestly, I’m surprised we didn’t end up in Oz! The wind today was absolutely relentless. Every step (and scooter push!) felt like a battle against the weather, and there were a few moments when I thought we might just take off and land somewhere over the rainbow. Despite the gusts, Layla and Izzy were determined to complete their mile. Scooters at the ready, they powered on through, proving once again that a little bit of Welsh weather isn’t enough to stop us. One of the highlights of today’s walk was taking the time to slow down and explore. We spotted an interesting little creature on a leaf and had fun trying to work out what it was. It just goes to show that even on the windiest days, there are always little adventures waiting to be found. Three days into our Make-A-Wish challenge and we’re still going strong. Every mile we walk helps support an incredible charity that brings joy, hope and unforgettable memories to children facing serious illnesses. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser, or cheered us on so far. Your support means the world to us and keeps us motivated to keep moving, whatever the weather throws our way. 3 miles down, and thankfully still in Wales!

Make-A-Wish Family Mile Challenge – Day 2

Tuesday 2nd Jun
Day 2 of our Make-A-Wish Family Mile Challenge is complete! Today it was just me, Layla and Izzy heading out together. To make things a little more fun, we dusted off our scooters and set off to complete our mile on wheels. The girls had a brilliant time racing ahead and keeping the pace up while we enjoyed some fresh air. We’d also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Your generosity means a lot! Two days down, plenty more miles to go, and we’re looking forward to every one of them. Thank you for cheering us on!

Make-A-Wish Family Mile Challenge – Day 1

Monday 1st Jun
Today marked the start of our Make-A-Wish Family Mile Challenge, where we’ll be walking a mile every day to help raise money for Make-A-Wish. For our very first walk, Layla’s best friend Primmy joined the adventure, making it even more special. It was myself, Layla, Primmy and Layla’s little sister, Isobelle, all setting off together. In typical Welsh fashion, after days of beautiful sunshine, the rain decided to make an appearance just as we were heading out! But we’re not made of sugar, and we certainly weren’t going to melt. We pulled on our coats, zipped up our jackets, and headed out anyway. Despite the drizzle, the girls were full of smiles and chatter, and we completed our first mile together. It was a wonderful start to our challenge and a reminder that sometimes the best adventures happen when the weather doesn’t quite go to plan. One mile down, many more to go. Thank you to everyone supporting us as we walk to help make wishes come true for seriously ill children.
