I'm a Community Wish Maker volunteer fundraising for...

Make-A-Wish® UK grant life-changing wishes for thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast. They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts. Your support has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.

Iron Man 70.3

Tuesday 7th Oct

Every journey starts with a single step — or in this case, a single stroke, pedal, and stride. This year, I’ve decided to take on one of the most challenging endurance events out there: the Ironman 70.3. That’s 1.2 miles of swimming, 56 miles of cycling, and 13.1 miles of running — all in one day. But this race isn’t just about testing my limits. It’s about something far more meaningful.

I’m racing for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an incredible organization that brings hope and joy to children facing critical illnesses. Each mile I train, and every ounce of effort I put in, is dedicated to helping grant life-changing wishes for these brave kids. Their strength and resilience are what truly inspire me to keep pushing forward, even when the training gets tough.

Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing my journey — the highs, the setbacks, the sore muscles, and the motivation that keeps me going. My goal isn’t just to cross the finish line, but to make a difference with every step along the way.

Let’s make every mile count — for the kids, for their dreams, and for a cause that matters.
