We're taking on walk for wishes!

This June we are taking on the walk for wishes kids challenge to raise money for Make-A-Wish UK!

Make-A-Wish UK grant life-changing wishes for thousands of critically ill children across the UK. Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast.

They need help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. For families with critically ill children, every day counts.

Your support has the power to make a wish come true for a critically ill child, allowing families to create lasting memories that they will treasure forever – no matter what the future holds.

Thank you to everyone

Wednesday 1st Jul
We would both like to thank everyone that has taken the time to have a look, read and share our page, it does mean a lot to us.

A special big thank you goes out to everyone who has sponsored us. Seeing those donations to help the critically ill children is what has kept us going throughout the challenge.

We have now finished our challenge and can't wait to share with you all our final amount raised.

Again thank you from both of us xx

Overall Miles Covered

Wednesday 1st Jul
We have now completed our challenge and pleased to share during the month of June we have completed 38miles each covering 76miles in total between us.

We are both so over the moon, some of the days the walks were a little challenging due to tiredness, weather conditions and the extremely hot weather we have recently been having.

We didn't let this stop us and have really enjoyed getting out and taking different routes to see how far we could get.

The Last Day - How far did we get

Wednesday 1st Jul
Can you believe we are on our last day of the challenge, we are so proud of ourselves that we have manged to to do this and raise funds to support Make a Wish charity and to help children's wishes come true.

During our walk today we have managed to cover just over 1.5miles.

We are super pleased and can't wait to see our overall total of miles walked during the month of June

29th June - Walk with Nanny

Wednesday 1st Jul
We are so close now to the end, we have already reached our target but wanted to see if we could get a couple more miles in before we finish tomorrow.

Nanny came and joined us tonight, after picking Libby up from after school club, we set off, quick stop off at the park and then we continued.

We have reached 36miles

Sunday 28th Jun
Yayyyyyyyyyy the girls have both now covered 36miles that have been tracked and logged.

We are so pleased and still have a couple of days to go.

We have only logged and tracked specific walks but can assure the girls have covered more as we walk to and from school and they both attend gymnastics once a week where we also walk.

They may not cover loads of distance during these journeys due to being close to home but over the month will have  covered some that will bring their overall total higher

13.9 miles covered over 2 days - rest day today

Sunday 28th Jun
After the girls have covered 13.9 miles over the last couple of days we have given them a rest day to day.

Saying that Willow has been to a party with trampolines and soft play and Libby has been out on her scooter and shopping. Even though we haven't tracked their miles today, they will have covered a little distance

6.2 miles covered

Sunday 28th Jun
Another 6.2 miles covered again today, no wonder the girls are tired and their legs are hurting.

13.9 miles covered in 2 days

They have now reached their target and more with a few days to go.

27th June - 2nd day at Warwick Castle

Sunday 28th Jun
Today we are tired but ready to see what our 2nd day off adventures will be. The temperature is cooler today but feels a little warmer as we don't have the breeze we had yesterday.

It's looking promising that we will get to see all the shows today, fingers crossed (Libby really wants to see the Viking show).

What looks as a promising start after waiting an hour the show had to be postponed, fingers crossed again for the afternoon show.

This didn't stop us we managed to watch Zog again, meet Zog and get to watch the bird show for the 2nd time. Wow what a show we got to see so many different birds and hear the story. They came so close to peoples heads and one came and sat on a post right near us.

Again we had plenty of shady breaks and of cause more ice creams.

Yayyyy the afternoon show was on and it was amazing we got to watch the Vikings battle the Saxons, we was so close and they came right near us. Libby really enjoyed this after ;earning about them at school recently.

We even got to have our photo taken with some of the Vikings and Willow managed to stroke one of the horses.

After the show finished we headed to the gift shop, brought some souvenirs and then we headed back to the car to come home.

Another overall amazing day

WOW..... How many miles have the girls covered today

Sunday 28th Jun
So proud of the girls today, with the heat and shady breaks the girls have managed to cover 7.7 miles.

What an achievement and biggest walk to date :)

SURPRISE NUMBER 2

Sunday 28th Jun
We have now surprised the girls with an over night stay in our own little Viking lodge in the woods and that we will be going back to Warwick Castle tomorrow, fingers crossed the weather is a little cooler and the shows we missed today can go ahead.
The lodge was lovely and they even had some entertainment on in the evening for the children with Knights and Princesses. After a very long day we were happy to get into bed and ready for our adventure tomorrow.

26th June - First day at Warwick Castle

Sunday 28th Jun
Wow what can we say the girls have had an amazing day today, have explored and seen so much. Willow was so excited to see Zog and Libby was so excited to see the Viking show. Unfortunately the Viking show got cancelled today due to very high temperatures, and the safety of the horses and actors. This didn't stop us we still managed to see and do loads, with some shady breaks and plenty of ice creams. They have both walked their little legs off today and have covered loads and loads of miles, with the extreme heat we had today, we appreciated the little breeze. We are so proud with what the girls have achieved today, they now think we are off to pay for the car park. SURPISE NUMBER 2......

Surprise visit to Warwick Castle

Friday 26th Jun
Today the girls had a teacher Training day so we have surprised them with an over night stay at Warwick Castle.
Safe to say they have both walked their little legs off and we have managed to cover quite a few miles. (Will update more when we get home)                             I've not told them but they are so close to hitting their 30miles and will end up going over each.

Little update

Friday 26th Jun
We have missed a couple of walks this week due to the heat and the girls beinf really tired.
We have still walked to and back from school which isn't far so have still got a few steps in

A very hot walk - 23rd

Wednesday 24th Jun
Wow, what a hot walk we had today, we left it till a bit later to see if the temperature dropped.

We had a quick stop off for a ice cream, to help.

Even with the heat we are pleased to have walked just over a mile

18th June

Monday 22nd Jun
Quick walk to drop a parcel on the way back form school before heading home

14th June

Monday 22nd Jun
Today we had another good day and walk, our village had an event on. As we don't live right by, maybe a 20minute walk we used this opportunity to continue our challenge. We tracked our walking whilst we was out and was super pleased. We also got some yummy food, brought some purchases and joined in a circus event. We then got treated to an ice cream for our walk home

13th June

Monday 22nd Jun
Today was a local Carnival where our Nana and Papa live, so we got to watch loads of floats, and go to explore stalls and rides. During our time we walked there, around and back again.

As this was a fun day, we didn't realise how far we had walked and was pleased with our distance.

We also got to spend time with our cousins and went back to play sports day races

12th June - Walk with Auntie Lisa

Monday 22nd Jun
Today we got to go on a walk with our Auntie Lisa, who we don't get to see very often. The sun was shining and we got to go and explore where our Aunties and Mummy use to go as Children. Auntie Lisa likes to take loads of photos of us, we could also get to show these to mummy and daddy on Saturday.  We walked, we ran and we jumped high in the air. Mummy will upload some of our photos in our gallery.

11th June - Daddy joined us

Monday 22nd Jun
Today we have done our walk a little later, this also meant that Daddy could come and join us, we tried a new route tonight, Daddy led the way and it was good to walk somewhere different

10th June

Monday 22nd Jun
Not only did I Libby have sports day today, but I also had cheerleading after school. By the time Mummy and Willow come to pick me up I was tired. But I new we needed to get our walk in, so after talking to our Friend Lily and her mummy for a little bit, they set us a challenge to see how far we could get before they drove past us. We did well with the time and distance they had to drive. Once we got going, mummy noticed our map had paused and stopped tracking our distance. So with this in mind and without guessing we had to only go and walk further to ensure we had our mile logged. Secretly Mummy new we had covered this with all the other activities, during the day. But she did stop at the shop and treat us to a nice cold drink for the last little stretch home :)

9th June

Monday 22nd Jun
After our big walk on Sunday, our little legs were tired, so we had a rest day on Monday, but we were soon back out with our walking legs after school and before gymnastics. Mummy forgot to put the map on her phone to see where we had walked

Our biggest walk so far 7th June

Sunday 21st Jun
Today we got our walking shoes, snacks and drinks ready and set of for our biggest walk so far in our challenge.
Our Nana and Papa live in the next village so we decided to walk, to see them.
Along our way we got to see ducks, baby ducklings, scenery bunny rabbits, different flowers and a Robin, Willow was to please to see that Nanny Pat had come to join us on our walk and to see how well they are doing. We had a couple of stop offs on the way to get some refreshments to keep us going and then we arrived at our destination. We were so proud of ourselves when we got there we celebrated with a ice cream to cool us down.
We walked 3miles, luckily mummy had her watch on as the phone map periodically kept pausing on us.

Super Proud

Friday 5th Jun
We are both super proud of the girls, they have both walked their little legs off the last 5 days, it has been hard as tiredness kicked in with going back to school after the holidays, after school clubs and gymnastics.
We are only on day 5 and the girls have just completed over 6 miles towards their 30. Keep smashing it girls Mummy and Daddy are so proud of you both

Today's Walk

Friday 5th Jun
Today's walk was a little harder we were both tired and our legs was a little achy. This didn't stop us again as we new we needed to get our walk in. We realised after we set of that our app had paused and stopped recording our distance. This was a little disheartening as we didn't realise and wasn't sure how far we had walked. But instead of giving up we carried on and walked a little further to ensure we still met our target. When we got home we then noticed it never continued our map of our journey

4th June

Friday 5th Jun
We was both tired tonight after school with both of us having after school clubs this week and gymnastics. This didn't stop us. We were a little slower but sill managed to get our mile in :)

3rd June

Friday 5th Jun
Today was our third walk of the week and we tried a new route tonight.

Second walk

Tuesday 2nd Jun
First day back at school, second mile walk in the bag once they had finished

Our first walk

Monday 1st Jun
Today we set out on our first walk, even the rain didn't put us off. We set out to complete our first mile but ended up completing 1.93miles

Inspiration

Sunday 31st May
My name is Libby and this is my little sister Willow. We have both decided to support this Charity Make a Wish where you walk a mile each day for people who are critically ill, who get to make a wish.
We are looking at raising £100, or more if we can.
If you would like to help me and my sister to raise as much as we can, please give your hopes and love.
What inspired us to help this charity is recently we helped support a little girl called Amelia where we both designed a birthday card for her and we have also visited and supported Jessie's Journey who has a shop to help raise funds in our local town. Thank you for reading and we will keep you all updated on our progress.

Thank you
