We're taking on walk for wishes!
This June we are taking on the walk for wishes kids challenge to raise money for Make-A-Wish UK!Oliver has signed up to complete his very first charity fundraising event. We’re taking part in the Make-A-Wish Foundation Walk a Mile challenge, walking a mile every day throughout June.
We don’t have a personal story involving Make-A-Wish, but it’s a charity we’ve always supported.
I want to raise Oliver to understand the importance of kindness, community and helping others, and to know he can be part of doing something good and worthwhile for people who need it.
This year we’re hoping to raise funds for Make-A-Wish to help them reach more children with critical illnesses and make their wishes come true.

Walk for Wishes - Week 1
Tuesday 9th JunIt's been a busy first week, with walks taking us to Newbridge Fields, Cosmeston Country Park, Bute Park, Bryngarw Country Park and plenty of local walks in between. Oliver has even smashed his target most days walking more than 1 mile!
There was one small setback when a very sore blister earned him a rest day on day 3, but he quickly made up the distance and has now walked over 9 miles in total, in a pair of Crocs! 😂

Day 1 - Complete!
Monday 1st JunWalk for Wishes – Day 1 Complete!
Today marked the start of Oliver's Walk for Wishes challenge, where he will be walking a mile every day to raise money for Make-A-Wish.
The weather wasn't exactly on our side, with all the rain today, but Oliver did really well and didn't let the bad weather, or a few stones in his Crocs stop him. He completed his first mile along the woodland path next to Newbridge Fields.
A special thank you goes to Auntie Susie, who made Oliver's fantastic Day 1 challenge T-shirt, as well as all of his colourful flags.
Day 1 is officially complete, and he's off to a great start. Thank you to everyone who has supported Oliver so far, whether through donations, encouragement, or simply following along on his journey.
One mile down, many more to go.
