I’ve got something exciting to share – this year, I’m lacing up my running shoes and taking on the iconic Great North Run, all in the name of an incredible cause: the Make-A-Wish Foundation! 🎉
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering… why on earth would I voluntarily sign up to run 13.1 miles? I mean, that's half a marathon – a challenge for even the most seasoned runners! Well, I’ll tell you why: It’s all for the kids. 💖
The Make-A-Wish Foundation makes magical wishes come true for children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. Think about it – a child's wish to go to Disney, meet their hero, or have a once-in-a-lifetime experience can bring them joy and hope when they need it most. 💫
What’s the Goal? 🎯
I’m aiming to raise £300 to help Make-A-Wish continue this incredible work. And here’s the best part: every single penny you donate goes directly to granting these wishes. Well, apart from the fact that it’s one of the world’s most famous half-marathons (and, let’s face it, the chance to run through the streets of Newcastle with thousands of other runners sounds pretty epic), this event is a perfect opportunity to challenge myself and raise as much money as possible.
