Manchester Marathon 2025
Friday 28th MarAfter at least 5 years of little to no exercise I was super unfit so in May 2023 I decided to join a running club, I instantly regretted this decision 30 seconds in to my first 5km run as I could hardly breathe so I had to start walking instead. That first run/walk was horrible, it took me 45minutes to complete and it was big wake up call as to how unfit I had become. Normally I would just give up and look for an another option but with the help of a few friends and The Silverbacks RC I have managed to stick with it and after a frustrating 18 months due to injuries I am finally starting to see some real progress which will see me taking part in my very first (and last) marathon in Manchester on the 27th April 2025
Having said that the furthest I have ran so far is 18.5miles and my legs were broken after that so I know I am in for a whole world of pain to get the full 26 miles complete so I thought it would be a good idea to raise some money for the Make a Wish charity in the process to help give me some extra motivation to push through the pain and get myself over that finish line.
Make a wish is a brilliant charity and do great work to make sure they bring some joy to children suffering with critical illnesses so if you could spare a £1 or 2 it would be really appreciated.
